W.B. Hopke Off to a Good Start on the Eisenhower Townhomes in Alexandria, VA

October 19, 2022 | W.B. Hopke Co. | Client Testimonial

W.B. Hopke recently completed the initial phase of wet utilities work at the Eisenhower Townhomes project located at 4901 Eisenhower Avenue. The project includes water, storm, and sanitary sewer infrastructure. The 6.9-acre parcel of land, originally a parking lot, is schedule to be developed and replaced with new townhomes just east of Victory Center.

Paul Cloutier, a project manager who has been with Hopke for 17 years, indicated that the project was off to a good start and provided some background details about the scope of work. Paul stated, “The site originally was an asphalt parking lot and there are going to be 16 buildings (139 townhomes units) built on the site with bike and walking trails. The site had both Fairfax County and City of Alexandria utilities included in the scope of work. Both had jurisdiction of the sanitary and storm sewer. Our role was to procure materials, permits, and do the installation. The installation required new piping and the installation of a new sanitary main around the east side of the site and a storm sewer on the west side of the site, before original lines could be demoed. The site had several areas of contaminated soil that were removed before our scope of work could be performed. Our crew set up the sanitary pump around, meeting both jurisdictions’ specifications before the cut in could be completed. We had multiple crews working the site to meet project schedules for the first two buildings before the first of the year.

After the initial work was completed, Hopke received the following statement in an email from Greg Boltersdorf, the project executive with The Anderson Company, Hopke’s customer for Eisenhower Townhomes project. Greg said, “You guys did great with the sanitary pump around and tie in for the east side. We appreciate your help.”

W.B. Hopke would like to recognize and thank all those working on the Eisenhower Townhomes project including project manager Paul Cloutier, estimator Dillion McCoy, superintendent Billy Green, our foremen Francisco Pineda, Ruben Saravia, Mark Dolin, and their crews Henry Villalta, Josue Lozano, Oscar Lopez Flores, Rafael Hernandez, Jose Pablo Cruz, Omar Bonilla, Josue Pacaja, Alan Hernandez, Jose A.
