May 27, 2025 | W.B. Hopke Co. | Completed Projects
The W.B. Hopke wet utilities project at Alta Crossroads aka Alta Nova, overseen by general contractor Wood Partners, was successfully completed on October, 11, 2024. Alta Crossroads consists of luxury residences from sleek studios to three-bedroom townhouses. Hopke’s work included sanitary, storm and water installation underground at 5851 Columbia Pike, Falls Church, VA.
The project, which began on March 7, 2023, required the installation of approximately 400′ of 8″ of sanitary pipe to the building, 7 sanitary structures and 84′ of 4″ sanitary laterals to the townhomes. The water required 90′ of water/fire line to building and 2 fire hydrants. The storm required a Stormtech detention system, 373′ of 42″ RCP, 519′ of 36″ RCP, 46′ of 18″ RCP, and 200′ of 15″ RCP, bio retention boxes and 13 storm structures.
“The biggest challenge with this project, was the installation of a lot of large bore storm pipe.
And the sanitary sewer work in Columbia Pike had several conflicts with exiting underground utilities,” said Paul Cloutier, Hopke Senior Project Manager.
W.B. Hopke would like to thank everyone that worked on this project to make it a success including Senior Project Manager – Paul Cloutier, Estimator – Dillon McCoy, Superintendent – Brian Starnes, Formen – Henry Villalta, Roberto Hernandez, Eddy Mead, William Hernandez and the entire Hopke Crew.
